He growls, lips next to her ear, words cutting so deeply she clutches at her chest. “I don’t love you”.

Bubbles
Floating in mid-air, round, simple, clear
we’re caught in a bubble, a small little circle
of love, life, and all the simple things
you’re my world and you don’t know it.
It’s so easy to fall in love with you
you’re patient, sweet, full of
and I miss you when we go into those
two separate ways, headlights facing apart.
I can’t begin to describe how hard it is
to stretch a bubble without breaking
the heart.
Power Lines & Internet Modems
You have a bad signal
but I’ve got the broken heart
the salty drops of rain that fall
< / 3
They break me
lure me in with false hope
false love, false everything
then cast me aside…
my only hope being to call
y o u.
But you’re lost in your own land
of power-lines and internet modems
I’m hurt and you can’t reach me
I guess it’s what I should expect
You can’t always be there
and I know that but…
I really needed you now.

Soft
There’s a lot of things
I wish I could be for you
but none of them
will ever make me
feel good enough.
& i can’t even wish this
You tell me that
I’m a wreck
but you’re the one who made me this way
I’m your wreck.
So, fix me
I want you to bleed
for your transgressions
I want you to suffer
for the way you make me feel
I want you to fix me.
You tell me that
I’m broken
but you’re the one who broke me
I’m your problem.
So tape me back together,
I want your fingers to break
under the weight of your transgressions
I want your lips to bleed
for the secrets you make me keep
I want you to fix me
You tell me that
I’m a waste of time
but you’re the one who wastes me
I’m your life flashing before your eyes.
So rewind the tape,
I want your eyes to see
what you’ve done to me
I want your heart to break
for the way you left me
I want you to fix me.
You tell me that
you’ll never love me
not even if I was the last girl on earth.
My Piano
It’s cold here
even under the blanket
my hands exposed
writing these feelings
while ears listen
to the broken music
played on my piano.
girls like me;
Girls like me,
don’t fall in love
we watch love happen.
Girls like me,
wait for love
want love
give love
but do not receive love.
Girls like me,
are not meant to be loved
we are meant to watch
and help love happen.
Girls like me,
try for love and fail.
Girls like me,
die alone
and broken.
Girls like me,
will love, giving all of ourselves,
but will not receive it’s warmth in return.
We will cry
but we will not receive comfort
we will bleed
but the bleeding will never stop.
Girls like me,
want to be loved
but no one will love us.
We will write about love,
we will dream about love,
we will love love
but we will never feel it.
Girls like me,
end up alone.
Poetry: Untitled
I still remember the exact moment I fell in love with you
the very instance.
the way you were standing
face contorted in deep thought
lips pursed, hands holding a guitar.
I can remember every detail
from the stubble on your face to
the color—
the style of your jeans
the color of the laces in your shoes.
I remember how your eyes
held my image with contempt
staring at me blankly and wondering
who I was and
why I was there.
I remember smiling
because that’s all you ever make me do
smile.
even as I lay here
broken & alone
the thought of your laugh
the way you wrinkle your nose
your lopsided grin
makes me smile
because I can’t stop loving you.
